Dreams

Today I've been thinking. What do I REALLY want to do with my life? What kinds of things do I want to be remembered for? One thing I do know for sure is this: I. Am. Going. To. Travel. I'm not sure how yet, but I will. And I will work for a non-profit organization (or at least some sort of organization that is helping people around the world). I know this may sound silly to people, but that is all I want: to help others. I don't care how much money I make. Enough to pay back all my loans and to get by would be lovely. Maybe I'll create my own organization. hmmm. Also, I want to take pictures. Loads of them! And submit them to contests all over and try to make people see life outside of their bubbles. Make dreams reality.

Panguitch Lights

At the end of June, I went with my family to a small town in the middle of Utah and enjoyed a Hotair Balloon Festival!! I now want to ride in a balloon!! It is amazing how beautiful hot air balloons are, and it was a blast watching them fill up with hot air. As the sun began to set in the sky, Main street was ablaze with the majestic balloons. It was amazing.

finer things

A group of friends and I have greated a little group and called it the Finer Things Club. Last night was the first get together and it was a lot of fun. We talked about classical music, books, and everything else excluding what is splattered all over pop culture magazines. Two of my friends, Jake and Scott, are very musically inclined and ended up playing some classical music on the piano and violin. If we would have been dressed up like we were from the times of Jane Austen, I think we would have fit in very well!

As I write this out, the Finer Things Club sounds like a group of arrogant University students getting together. However, we all come from different walks of life. It feels so refreshing to talk about things beyond what is happening in politics or the media. I feel like there can be more discussions about what it really means to live life! My dad gave me a book from Franklin Covey called Ever Wonder: Ask Questions and live into the answers. It is a book of questions that get people thinking what it really is to THEM to discover the joys of living. I think I may take it the next time we get together....I love that little book!
